Work began 3 hours late due to rain from the night before. When work re-commenced, handpicks and trowels were used to remove the remainder of the medium brown, claylike, Locus 3 topsoil and define any rocks that appeared. The new, lighter, yellowish-brown soil was revealed across the entirety of the locus and more medium and larger rocks were uncovered in the southern half of the locus, although it is unclear whether any of these stones are a continuation of the northern linear rock feature. Soil was handsorted directly into buckets in the trench and relatively low quantities of tile and bone were recovered.

Once all topsoil was removed, two stumps, one in the eastern wall of the trench in Locus 3 and one in the southern portion of the trench in Locus 1 , were removed with axes.

Work halted early due to rain.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
