Excavation concentrated in Locus 7 this morning to find the extent of the slope north-south to the linear stone feature. The soil remains grey-brown and densely packed with materials.

Further excavation in Locus 7 cut has revealed it is sloping sharply to the linear stone feature and its lower courses. The quantity of material remains consistently high. Recovered in mid-morning were a fine impasto vessel with red paint and a tile with incised mark.

PM This afternoon we reached the bottom of Locus 7 . It terminates at a north-south sharp slope to the linear stone feature ( Locus 6). At the bottom a narrow strip of grey-yellow soil is apparent running across the sounding around 40cm wide.

Following this the remaining parts of Locus 7 were removed and the white-grey-yellow soil was further exposed. All of this was completed using minipicks.
