A. M.

Photographs taken.

Scraped down floor in I/48-49 for leveling, recovered about 6 small pieces of plaster, about 5 pieces of bone, and 1 small shard of pottery.

Began new cut in H-I/41 (eastern 1/2 meter) using the datum line in the NW corner of 6/41.  First cut was taken from the surface (18cm below datum) down to 30cm and the second cut went down to 40cm.  The topsoil in these two cuts yielded a combined total of 1/2 cassetta of tile and 1/4 latte box of pottery.  The third cut, down to 60cm, also consisted of topsoil  and produced another 1/4 latte of pottery and 1/16 cassetta of tile.

The fourth cut went down to 70cm and consisted of a medium brown soil.  Recovered about 30 small fragments of the 1/3 latte of pottery.  Also found a piece of incised rim (find #1) and a shaft of a bronze pin (find #2).  The soil in the fifth cut (70-90cm) wasd medium bron/grey and produced 1/4 cassetta of tile and 1/3 box of pottery.  Also found 2 pieces of heavily vitrified material, possibly slag (find #3).

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
