The entire floor level of K-L-M/71-76 has been leveled to an average depth of 100-105 cm.  In order to better understand the relationship of the stone concentration to the medium brown soil beneath it, we have adopted the following procedure:

The workable portions of meter M/71 and M-L/72 will be dug to a depth of cir. 110-115 cm (i.e., those areas not dominated by the stump which is still present here).  A baulk will be established along the eastern border of meters K-L-M/73 to view the eastern section of these meters.

The surface of K-L-M/73-76 will be periodically scraped to see if any widening of a shift in soil type along the horizontal plain occurs.

If neither of these procedures reveals any further information about this tone packing, we will proceed by digging K-L-M/73 to a depth equal with that of M/71 and L-M/72 to further clarify this section.

Any variance from the plan described above will be noted.

Work began in meters M/71 and L-M/72 to a depth of 105-110 cm.  Soil type in this area was medium brown with heavy plastic inclusion and densely impacted with pottery and tile.  When this cut is completed, a stratigraphic description of the baulk will be given.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
