Daily Log

Continued cut from south to north at approximately 10 cm deep.  Also, the western baulk wall was defined.  The soil is still brown/olive-brown in color and crumbly.

Finished the cut, then proceeded to straighten the baulk walls.  The eastern baulk wall is presenting difficulties due to the extreme density of roots from the large tree east of the trench.  Then the trench's floor was levelled to get a better idea of the soil overall depth and dispersal of roots.  Approximately 1/2 latte box of bulk pottery and 1/4 cassette of terracotta were found.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
