Brief summary:  Topsoil removed from T-23 1981 (30 cm) and from half of T-26 1981 (25 cm).  No finds.

Excavation of T-23 1981 was begun.  Workmen cleared the topsoil to a depth of 30 cm in meters C-AA/11-12 and to a depth of 15 cm in meters BB-CC/11-12.  Very little pottery or tile was encountered.

Excavation of T-26 1981 was begun.   Jim Hare and myself cleared meters C-E/77-79 to a depth of ~25 cm.  Again, little pottery or tile was encountered.  Soil from both trenches is being deposited in T-23 1979 North.  See MT IV p. 10 for a location of soil and tile dumps.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
