After the 2 complete pick passes yesterday it was observed that they western half of the trench was higher than the eastern half so the western half was picked first. The soil was shoveled into buckets and sorted in the wheelbarrow. Terracotta and pottery was found. This pick pass brought most of the trench level. The area around the stump was picked to continue to level the trench. Roots were clipped off the stump. The eastern third of the trench was picked. Terracotta and pottery was found. A piece of slipped pottery was found (SF #1). A pick pass was done in the western third of the trench. Soil was sorted in the wheelbarrow. Worn terracotta and pottery was found. A pick pass was done in the middle third of the trench. Soil was shoveled and sorted in the wheelbarrow, less terracotta was recovered in this pass over the trench. The pieces continue to be worn and erode with few larger pieces. A piece of terracotta with an impression was recovered (SF #2). While sorting the terracotta bucket a piece of terracotta with

an incised line was found. After this pass the soil remains the same olive clay-like soil.
