A pick pass was done in the

western
eastern most meter of the trench. Rocks continued to be hit but they are scattered through the meter. A pick pass was done in the next meter (93-94 E). Small worn fragments of tile and a heavily eroded handle fragment was recovered. The soil continues to be a gray-brown clay like soil with lots of small rocks along the roots. A pick pass was done in the next meter moving west (92-93). Root rot and many roots are still present. A large rock was found in the middle of the pass at 92 E, 34.5 S. The rock so far is ~40 cm long. Another pick pass was completed in the final meter. Soil was sorted by hand into buckets and dumped. There were more rocks in the southwestern corner, they appear to be intwined with the roots from the tree on the southern baulk. The eastern most meter was picked again. There were fewer rocks in this pass. The soil seems to becoming sandier and granular. Another pick pass was done in the next

meter west (93-94 E). The northern part of the pass is less rocky and becoming sandier. The southern part is still full of roots and rocks but those seem to be becoming less. The final meter of the trench was picked. It seemed that this pass was full of rocks. We have begun to clear soil from several larger rocks (~20-40 cm long).
