A.M.

The rocks, tiles adn pithos fragments in the line P-R 65-66 were cleaned, photographed adn sketched. The stump in P 68-69 was further cleaned. 1/3 cassetta of tile, adn plaster and 1/2 box of pottery were found.

Several measurements were taken by the architect: the surface of the trench corners, the level of the floor/floor level in R 67-68 and the height of the rocks/pithos fragments in P-R 65-66. (for the trench measurements see drawing p.8 adn 89.145/ for the height of the rockline see sketch p.140).

It was decided to leave the rock line in situ and leave the trench at depth 0.80m. Instead the trench was extended to R-P 62-64. For a continuation of R-P 65-71 see pp.

P-R 62-64:

The meter 62 has been partially excavated earlier (See AC 1 and 2 , 1984 and GD 2 , 1982 for earlier excavations in this area).

The area was cleared, the picetti put in, and photogrphed. The topsoil cut started. Several large rocks were removed. 1/2 cassetta of tile was found and a few fragments of coarseware pottery.

P.M.

P-R 62-64: The topsoil cut (depth 0.20m) was finished. The lower part of a gorgon's hair and a bronze shaft was found. Very few fragments of tile, plaster and pottery were found.
