T8

During the afternoon of the Palio-day the remaining dirt from the dump placed E of T8 had been removed for about 10m by 18.30 m.  This area is an extension of T8 and will be excavated as one big complex.  Bedrock is close to the surface already in the topsoil.

T5E

Work was resumed in the testcut, the W part of the cut proved unproductive.

T6D

In order to clarify the wall uncovered in 1968 in complex T6 ( see TG trenchbook 3 p. 52 ) a new trench was opened adjoining to T6B.  This will be called T6D.  It measures 12m E-W and N-S 13.50m.

Topsoil was taken off starting in the center of the trench.  A dike was left on the border to T6C to allow for the wheel-barrow to pass.

2 boxes of tiles were dumped.  2 pieces of cornice were found in the topsoil.
