The northern boundary of the trench, line 39S on the master grid, is the baseline that was shot at the start of the season and the eastern boundary of the trench, line 59E, is the western boundary of CA 81, and so 3 of the 4 corners of the trench, the NW (56E/39S), NE (59E/39S), and SE (59E/41S) corners, are already established. The fourth corner, the SE (56E/41S) was triangulated using the known lengths of the N and E walls of the trench, using a 2x3 triangle, with the hypotenuse measuring 3.61m.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
