Continued the clearing of I-J/ 52-54 in two cuts today, each approximately 30 cm. in depth (cuts 2 and 3, respectively). Cut 2 contains the same fine-grained soil observed at the same level in meters G-H; cut 3 is a clayish soil mixed with small stones, tile fragments, large chunks of plaster, heavy carbon, and a few fragments of mud bricks. A small amount of pottery also occurs, mostly coarse ware. 6 cassetti of tile dumped.
