The concentration of frieze in the northern end of the trench began to limit itself primarily to the area under the stones.  As these were taken up moving north to south the concentration also began to shift from frieze to lateral sima.  Fragments of cavetto and several rosettes were found - also one standard human sima head and one of a new type.  In this latter, the face is much narrower and the cheeks more bulging, though the head as a whole was badly worn. Pieces fitting onto the back confirmed that it was used in the same way as the other head. However, the close proximity of the two heads in the trench seems to preclude any question of levels.

Tiles were again heavy, and in the northern end very well preserved - about 35 boxes.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
