Trench Layout

Trench Layout:

The boundaries of the trench were laid out using a baseline shot with the transit off the grid point PC 1 and a second baseline extending at a 90 degree angle. Using triangulation a two by three meter trench was established with the NW corner at a location of 29 S/8 W

The coordinates of the four corners of CB 45 at the time of the start of the 2011 season are as follows:

NW corner: 29S/8W

SW corner: 31S/8W

SE corner: 31S/11W

NW corner: 29S/11W

A datum point with an absolute elevation of 31.20 m was established on a tree located near the southeast corner of the trench.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
