T6E (2) Rectangular Cut A
A trench 1.5x6.5 metres was laid out to include a double line of stones ( 152 & 184 ). Excavation between the two lines of stones revealled in the eastern end galestra only, but in the western end a packet of dark brown earth producing a small quantity of sherds without tile fragments. The northern edge was bordered by a row of standing slabs and the southern by a rough "wall" of stones only one layer deep. The standing line of slabs extended down into the brown layer which also appeared to continue on the northern side of the line of slabs, which had apparently been sunk into the previously, existing brown stratum.) in trench T6E and was designated "Rectangular Cut A".
