|Object Type (notes)||Impasto Stopper (or Finial)|
|Size||Max. Pres. Length 0.039 m, Max. Pres. Width 0.030 m, Max. Pres. Thickness 0.022 m, Min. Pres. Thickness 0.011 m|
|Condition||Surfaces are worn, pitted and scratched, but there are still traces of slip. Two finished edges and surfaces are preserved.|
|Description||Object has a flattened, bell-shaped section and thinner, bell-shaped profile. Section features a rounded top and splayed bottom. The bottom of this bell is chipped away, but part of the lower surface remains. From this lower surface there is a knob-like protrusion which is rounded in section. The entire object appears to be a stopper, rather than a finial, since both ends are finished. The upper part seems to have been pinched before firing, offering more evidence for the stopper interpretation.|

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
