|Description||Locus 13 is a roundish-shaped locus, sitting in-between Locus 12 and 14 on the E side of the trench. It sits under Locus 11, which extended through nearly the whole trench (except for Locus 7 in the NW corner) but is really a continuation of Locus 8. It can be seen in the E baulk, starting ca. 50 cm S of the N baulk. Locus 13 is a dry yellowish-brown clay. It bakes very quickly in sunlight and heat. It consists of several rocks, which vary considerably in size. Some are small boulders, and are probably more than 30 cm long, while others are more fist-sized. The presence of barbed wire in the E baulk just above Locus 13 in Locus 11 and the presence under two rocks in Locus 13 & 14 of a void, in which can be seen more rocks with air pockets in between them, indicates that is still backfill, most likely from one of the Tesoro-6 trenches, but due to the lack of archival material regarding the precise location of the early trenches, it is impossible to know exactly which one it was. Excavation did not finish in this locus. Due to time constraits, the focus of the last few days of excavation was limited to the archaeologically secure soil of the N part of the trench, and of revealing the stratigraphy of the N baulk. No closing points or elevations were taken for the 2009 season closing.|

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
