|Description||Locus 1 consisted of a dark brown/gray soil. The soil was very dry and brittle from being baked in the sun. Much organic material was present within this locus, namely superficial plants/weeds and roots; Locus 1 was the humous layer. Very little material was uncovered from this locus (18 sherds of pottery or 5.6% of the total 319 sherds discovered in CB-46). Additionally this locus is very shallow, with a maximum depth of 10cm. As topsoil, the material uncovered offers no contextual information. Locus 1 was conflated with Locus 4 and Locus 5.|

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
