|Description||Locus 5 consists of a dark gray soil that is full of roots and other organic material. This locus contains the top soil/humus layer. Locus 5 is equivalent to locus 1 and is being treated separately because locus 5 covers the eastern extension of the trench. Locus 5 uncovered the extent of the rock spread that makes up locus 6. Additionally, a yellowish soil began to appear in locus 5 at the eastern edge of the trench but was left unexcavated. Materials recovered from this locus include approximately 3 bowls of terracotta, 2 boxes of pottery, and a sheet of bronze (20110041).|

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
