|Description||Locus 1 is the top soil/humus layer and and contains a dark brown grayish soil and contains a large amount of organic debris including roots and some leaves. The roots are largely concentrated in the western most meter of the trench (between 4-5E) due to the large stump systems that are located there. The locus also contains some small rocks and worn bits of terracotta. There are two out croppings of bedrock in the north eastern area of the trench. Locus 1 produced less than one bowl of terracotta and 4 sherds of pottery.|
