Description Locus 3 contains a sandy yellowish brown soil which contains a large amount of white inclusions. The soil still contains a great deal of roots due to the stump system in the western most meter of the trench. Also the bedrock found in this layer has taken up and even larger space in the north east corner of the the trench. This layer also contained a number of 7-15cm stones that appeared to be floating and associated with bedrock. This layer was largely sterile with the exception of the area around the stump system which did produce some material, most likely from bioturbation. This locus produced less than half of a bowl of terracotta and 8 sherds of pottery.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
