Description Locus 1 was a dark brown topsoil with a large amount of humus (organic matter). There is a tree that was left with a square baulk around it that measures roughly 60 x 60 meters so all elevations after locus 1 were taken around the baulk. The locus was filled with small pieces of terracotta, roots, and a few small rocks. There was also a significant amount of root rot in the northeast and southeast corners of the trench near to the trees.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
