Description Locus 1 is a dark brown humus layer with organic material loosely packed and including leaves, grass, and roots. A large stone, possibly a fragment of bedrock, is located in the southeastern corner and extends south into adjacent CA 72. Two large stumps twenty to seventy centimeters in diameter appear across the trench. Worn fragments of terra cotta, pottery, bone, and vitrified terra cotta recovered in small concentrations. The locus was relatively shallow--between five and twelve centimeters deep.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
