Description Locus 6 was soil removed from the first eastern extension of the trench, in a part of T-23 originally excavated between 1978-1980. This locus turned out to be the backfill of T-23, although this was not known at the time, when Locus 6 was opened, for there is no mention of backfill in the T-23 trenchbooks. This was later identified as backfill by the presence of plastic tarp, located at the bottom of the locus. The soil was primarily dark brown and loose and contained a small amount of material.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
