Description This locus was a sounding to reach bedrock and/or sterile soil. The soil of this locus was olive-brown in color. Decayed limestone and sterile soil appeared in the bottom of the trench. Fragments of terracotta and pottery sherds were found all the way to the bottom. The fragments of terracotta in this sounding have clean breaks for the most part and are two to three times larger on the average than that found in previous loci. Approximately 3/4 bowl of terracotta fragments was recovered.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
