Description This locus is the humus/top soil layer and contains a light grey flaky soil with a heavy concentration of organic material and small rocks (5 cm). The is very little material, and what material there is has been heavily eroded and weathered. Also associated with this stratum is a layer of backfill associated with prior excavation of this area. This backfill is a medium brown soil with very little material in it. The was no tarp laid down under this backfill.
