Description Locus 2 is a bluish-gray clay layer with pockets of blue and lighter gray soil over the whole of the trench. Locus 2 underlay Locus 1. There were many pitted and eroded stones ranging from 10-30 cm in length across the whole of the trench. No bone was recovered, and very little pottery and tile was recovered. Medieval and 20th century pottery was recovered, along with ancient pottery, thus the whole locus is of a disturbed, mixed context. Locus 3 and 4 underlay Locus 2.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
